F riends, Romans, Country(wo)men,

It’s that time of year when the New York City Poetry Festival starts to really kick into gear.  As you probably know by now, this essential festival brings together thousands of poetry fans from around the tri-state area to see emerging and established poets, including this year’s headliners Aja Monet, Sapphire, Deborah Landau, and Patrick Phillips.  And, all of this takes place over 2 days on beautiful Governors Island (just a short ferry ride from downtown Manhattan or Brooklyn).  But it can’t happen without your help.  Festivals don’t fall out of thin air, perfectly set up, with permits and sound equipment.  Won’t you please donate some money to help these fine folks keep running?  There’s some pretty nice goodies if you donate to their Kickstarter, plus the satisfaction of knowing you’re supporting a vital lifeline for poetry in the city.

Thank you!
