July 23, 25, & 26th
Bridge to Baraka
Manhattan Repertory Theatre
303 W. 42nd St., 6th Floor

QC alum (Drama) Yvette Heyliger has a new play up at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre called Bridge to Baraka, which, Yvette tells me, is inspired by an elective she took during her degree, here at QC, about the Black Arts Movement.  (And you all thought those classes were just for fun, huh?)

The play description:

Emboldened by the Black Arts Movement of the 1960’s, Yvette X stakes her claim as a female dramatist coming of age during the ongoing fight for parity for women in the American Theatre.

It’s on a limited run–this week only–as part of Manhattan Rep’s Summerfest 2014.  So email MRTRESERVATIONS@GMAIL.COM for reservations, right away.

And be sure to check out http://manhattanrep.com/summerfest-2014/ for more information about their summer of drama (and comedy).
